Oh, God of noticing,
You notice the cries of your people, the laughter of a child, and the tears of those in mourning.
You notice the depths of our longings that confuse even our own tangled souls.
You notice the birds that we see out our windows, searching for food and shelter—you care for them.
You notice the needs that flood our reality—they are not lost to you.
We ask you to open us to notice the cries of our hearts,
To notice our movements towards you,
and our pushing away of your love.
We ask you to soften us to notice the creation around us—as they are all bearers of your light.
To notice the eyelashes of a loved one, the hand dimples of a baby, the encompassing colors of a sunrise, the joy in shared laughter, the intricate weaving of a blade of grass—
the image of you in all.
We praise you—the giver of noticing.
The God of all.
Our praise is our noticing of you, as you notice us.
Amen.
